Connector selection

Ribbon / IDC Connectors

Browse ribbon-cable and insulation-displacement connector components. Confirm cable or wire construction and termination details; these are connectors, not completed cable assemblies.

Series example. Confirm the exact configuration and mating components before ordering.

Use the filters to compare available series. A series can appear in more than one connection category; its details and quotation request remain on the same product page. Matching pitch alone does not establish compatibility.

Distinguish the cable from the connector interface

  1. Identify the cable or wires.State whether you need a ribbon-cable or individual-wire termination. Include conductor count, gauge and cable or insulation dimensions.
  2. Specify the termination form.Identify the exact housing and termination drawing, cable-exit direction and any required polarizing features.
  3. Review the complete connection.Confirm contact arrangement, mating connector and pin-one orientation. For PCB versions, include the selected footprint.
Narrow your selectionSelecting a filter hides entries where that value has not yet been confirmed. Reset filters to see all entries again.

Check conductor spacing, contact pitch and termination form

This catalogue contains ribbon-cable and individual-wire IDC constructions as well as documented PCB variants. Use each selected drawing to establish the cable or wire requirements.

Two different pitch references
D2558 has a 2.54 mm connector pitch, while its housing drawing identifies 1.27 mm ribbon-cable pitch. Specify both values; a connector pitch does not by itself define conductor spacing.
Housing form and wire selection
D2559 documents closed-end and feed-through housings, each with or without polarizing tabs. Its wire options are 22, 24, 26 and 28 AWG; select the documented wire-size option and housing form together.
Contact map and ordering scope
Provide pin-one orientation, conductor-to-contact mapping and the mating-part drawing. State whether the RFQ is for connector components or a finished cable assembly; include cable length and both ends for an assembly.

Prepare your configuration request

Include the series and housing form, conductor count, cable conductor spacing or wire gauge, insulation dimensions, pin-one orientation, contact map, mating-part drawing and quantity. For finished assemblies, add cable length and connector details at both ends.

Standard connector samples are free, excluding freight. Typical production MOQ is 1,000–5,000 pieces per model or configuration. Packaging can follow your requirements.
